It is strange to see the peculiarities of your own facial structure in a specific picture of a grandparent. It triggers in me this speculative idea that were are cross-generational temporal beings who survive through gene-mixing. Even though the unique essence of me gets diluted 50% with each generation, I persist. My grandchildren will be only 25% me, but I still feel that logging is a way for me to communicate ideas to an instance of myself that will be around in the 2100s. They might be genetically, mostly different, and culturally, extremely different, but even the slightest genetic similarity makes familial writing significant; they are seeing an imperfect replica of their mind in a different context, offering insights into themself, intentionally or not.
