Noticing Your Thoughts
Fleeting thoughts usually pass by without noticing. The first step to logging is to become aware of them, which can only really happen if you find importance for them. If you don’t see your everyday thoughts as either a) embryonic ideas with potential worth developing, or b) clues to troubleshoot your problems, you have little reason to pay attention. One you are paying attention, you need some sort of filter, because you can’t give all thoughts equal attention. When you come upon a good one, you shape it, examine if there’s something good in there, and if there is, you write it to remember it.
