Artists online
To what degree is being personal online a form of commodifying the self into a product? I think it depends if you have freedom to evolve and have contradictory, wide-ranging ideas, or if you are niched-down, monetized, and benefitting the platform more than yourself. It’s cynical to say “cyberspace is a blackhole”; there’ room to be an artist online without getting sucked into the machine, it just requires a diligent adherence to the right values.
