My excitement to dance at a wedding/party is directly correlated to my appreciation of the music. Obvious, but I didn’t know that as a kid because every occasion had trashy pop/rap. It’s not that I won’t dance to Lil Jon, it’s just that it requires me to pretend to enjoy it. There was one wedding where I remember dancing in circles around my wife because my friend had a live band with excellent song choice.
